...in all seriousness, the Genie doesn't do much. Maxwell and friendly NPCs can interact with him, which makes him poof, leaving valuables like diamonds and rubies behind...so I guess if you didn't want to write Ruby for some reason?
Oh, and he is interested in lamps and feels defensive about his oil lamp. Also, for some reason, he is afraid of tanukis.
